Rolls Royce & Bentley: Luxury at Its Finest

Bentley and Rolls Royce are two flagship makes of cars that express opulence and luxury like no other car.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom has been in production since 1925. The Phantom is the flagship sedan of Rolls-Royce that provides a ride likened to a magic carpet ride, sporting electrically controlled suspension, and roars down the road with a 12 cylinder, twin-turbocharged engine that goes 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. This car not only sports an instrument cluster with a dashboard and LCD screen; the Phantom also features artwork behind a single piece of glass. The Phantom is an art gallery on wheels.

A unique feature of the Rolls-Royce Phantom is that it is designed for the rear passenger. The interior is likened to a sanctuary, where the headliner is not simply a covering, it sports starlight viewing, and can be custom ordered with your birth constellation featured.

We all know that James Bond stepped out of a Rolls-Royce, however, did you know that Fred Astaire and John Lennon also owned Rolls-Royce Phantoms?

Bentley is known as a luxury sedan within reach of the upper-middle class. Starting at $30,000 and reaching upwards of $300,000, these luxury sedans are something to look at, drool over, and ride in.

For the last 100 years, Bentley has focused on building a gorgeous, powerful sedan, nestled within the pricing of a Rolls-Royce and a Mercedes-Benz. Sporting a 12-cylinder engine that tops at 207 MPH and goes 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, this finely tuned machine can move.

The interior is designed with the driver in mind, with some models offering a three-sided display. The three-sided display has simple and classy gauge clusters on one side, wood veneer on another, and the third side sports an LCD touchscreen.

Backed with its parent company, Volkswagen, Bentley now sports electric drivetrains, which provide a drive more comfortable than you might imagine, all while maintaining its attractive sex appeal.

While once, Rolls-Royce did own Bentley and became very similar in design and appearance, the two automotive brands never merged, maintaining their own identities. And are now each owned by other manufacturers. BMW owns Rolls-Royce, and Bentley is now owned by Volkswagen. Each company individually struggled, and both made remarkable comebacks, separately from one another, which is a noteworthy feat, knowing the struggles each manufacturer endured.
